How do I Write a Script?

So you have a great project in mind and you want to write out a script, but you don’t know how. Don’t worry, we’re here to help. If you haven’t already, take a look back at the next steps document which helps identify your audience, theme and other video basics. Then create a simple bulleted list of topics you wish to cover. Continue to expand this list based on your central theme of your video. From here, it might be helpful to number the bulleted lists by highest priority. This helps if anything has to be cut for time. Now, review your list and think about how you would explain these items to someone sitting across from you. I think it’s helpful to use your phone or a laptop with a voice to text app because sometimes written texts can sound too academic and speaking out loud allows a script to sound more natural. From here, you simply need to revise and maybe reorder. Remember to always read out loud and time yourself at a natural pace.
