What Do I Do With My Hands?

So something to keep in mind when you’re going to be on camera is what to do with your hands. So a lot of people gesture with their hands, and I’m one of them. I like to speak with my hands. It’s something that’s pretty common. But you wanna avoid doing things that can be distracting. And you also wanna try to make sure that you’re doing things that kinda make sense with what you’re talking about. If you’re talking about making a connection between something or talking about talking to somebody, those are good gestures. But you wanna avoid your hands doing just kind of random things while you’re filming. Something else to keep in mind is that some people get a little nervous. They might get a little fidgety, and they might just kinda be messing with one of their hands or the other. And that can be a little distracting, and it kind of takes away from the authority that you feel like you might have when you feel like you’ve got a lot of nervous energy. So these are things that you wanna keep in mind when you’re going to be on camera.
